I put a new link under the "About Me" section over there ----->
Go check it out! I created a new blog to keep up with the things that I want to do or accomplish. I haven' gotten too far but it's a start :-D.
As of this moment I'm dieting (AGAIN). I feel so FAT and I've had enough. I want to feel as good as I did 2 yrs ago when I lost 26lbs (which I have mostly kept off except a 5lb fluctuation). So I'm done with sugar stuff and sodas to start with along with drinking water every day. That's what I'm giving up this week. I'm not a cold turkey kinda a girl ... well actually cold turkey is pretty good ... but you know what I mean. If I go slow and give up a few bad things here and there then I can stick with it.
Starting tonight I'm going to work out. Not sure how long but I'm at least going to do some stretching, sit ups, and walk on my treadmill. That's better than nothing right?
I think I need to get a big poster of Adriana Lima and put it on my fridge. Adam thinks she is HOT so I know he wouldn't mind. He says that I look like her but I think he's just full of it. Anyways that may give me some motivation to have to stare at her everyday and everytime I go to the fridge. I'm sure I have a victoria's secret catalog somewhere in my house so maybe I'll just post random pictures around ... HAHA.

Recipe
I think I really do have PMS this month. This week I have been eating everything I can get my hands on including chocolate! I never eat chocolate. Not because I'm not supposed to just because I don't really care for it that much. Yesterday while at CVS I grabbed a white chocolate easter bunny. I've been munching him away all day! Although I must not be too moody because Adam hasn't made his "It must be that time of the month" comment yet. Or it could be just because he's sick and I've been taking care of him and he doesn't want to piss me off even more.
Guys (if any read this) PLEASE do not say this to your girlfriend/wife/whatever. It will only make things worse. I promise!
On to other things now.
Anyways here is the potota soup recipe from Sunday's dinner. I'm gonna copy it straight from the book and then make my suggestions.
~*~
Baked Potato Soup
4 lg. baking potatos
2/3 c. butter or margarine
2/3 c. flour
6 c. milk
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
12 slices of bacon, cooked & crumbled
1 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 (8oz) ctn. sour cream
4 green onions, chopped
Wash potatos and prick; bake at 400 for 1 hour, or until done. Let cool. Cut potatos in half and scoop out pulp and set aside. Discard skins. In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Add potato pulp, salt, pepper, green onions, bacon, and cheese. Cook until thoroughly heated, then stir in sour cream. Add extra milk for desired thickness.
~*~
What differences I did

What differences I did
- I did not use the sour cream or onions at all. I don't like them.
- I put my bacon & cheese on the side to be added as you are eating so that the bacon is crispy & Adam doesn't care for cheese in his.
- Mine turned out really thick & I had to add a bunch of milk so watch how much potato pulp you are putting in. I think I would have been fine with just 3 potatos so that it was soupier.
Enjoy!

Grrrrr
I'm in a very ticked off mood today. Maybe it's PMS or maybe the world is just pissing me off today.
First off: The election is over people. Obama has won and he is OUR president. Mine & yours. Don't come in to my office saying "He isn't my president. I didn't vote for him." I don't care. I happen to like President Obama. I did not vote for him but I have liked him as a person and as a speaker from the very beginning. I didn't agree with some of the things that he was for / against so I chose not to vote for him. My guy lost and so my support now must be for our current president. He at least deserves our respect even if we do not agree with him or even like him. And for heavens sake DO NOT say things that are racist in front of me. I'm not a racist person and some of these comments that people make just make me want to cry. This is 2009 people!!!
I had a guy tell me today that Obama sucks because he's bailing out these banks. Am I behind or did that not start under Bush's administration? Didn't it? Do I agree with 100% of everything that President Obama is doing? No. I do trust him to do the best he can do as our president and I believe that he has the best interest of our nation in mind. Why would he not? Will everybody be happy? Of course not. Nobody ever is.
Second: I'm pissed at the company that I work for. It would be hard for me to explain my exact problem because it's specific to the insurance industry but it's basically the computer program. Why can't these program designers make things easy for us. I'm just so frustrated with what I'm working on and sitting on hold for 30 minutes while some genius can't figure it out!
My pissed offness doesn't seem so big when I list it as only 2 things but I'm just so sick of negativity. I'm a positive person. I do not like drama, gossip, or people saying mean things about others. I just want to live my life loving my family and trusting God.
Ok that's enough of that. I think I need some sugar or something.
To get me in a better mood here are some things that I'm HAPPY about today:

- Adam is feeling much better but still blowing his nose constantly.
- I'm still not sick (yet)
- I found a scrunchi at the office so that I could put my hair up. The static was driving me nuts
- I bought 2 weeks worth of groceries on Sunday for the same price (or just a little more) than what I normally spend on 1 weeks worth. (I may need Hamburger buns or some chicken this weekend but that should be it!)
- There have been good songs on the radio all day!
- I printed my weeks worth of FlyLady duties that I haven't been doing this past month.
- I'm getting a Miche Bag with my money I got for my b-day. (Check it out at www.michebag.com)
Happy Pancake Day & Fat Tuesday! (Do you think those go together for a reason).
Amy: I will post that Potato Soup recipe tomorrow.

Quickie
This weekend was awesome! Things went pretty much as I planned in my previous post except Friday night! Friday after I got home with work we were waiting for my sis-in-law to get home so that we could go to the mall (me, her, & Adam). So she gets home and we get in the car to leave. Adam had told me the day before that his other sis who lives on the other side of us (yes I'm surrounded by in-laws :-D ) that she had forgotten to give me my b-day card and that she would bring it over Friday. So while we are pulling out he says "Let's go over here and get your birthday card since she didn't bring it over" I said "So you want me to just walk up and say Hey you didn't bring me my card, can I have it? I don't think so!" Well he just kept on going... I look up at there house and all my in-laws, my mom, step dad, and a few others were standing there with a Happy Birthday banner!
I can't believe they got me! I'm the hardest person to surprise because I'm always looking for the surprise when there isn't one. This time I wasn't even thinking about it! They did such a good job! It was so awesome and we had so much fun!
Saturday Adam got sick. I think he caught a cold / flu when he went to his Dr. about his back pain on Thursday. He stayed in bed all day yesterday but was able to go to work today. I think his back in bed now though. After work I'm gonna pick up his prescriptions and go home and take care of him (and take some vitamin C).
Last night I made some AWESOME home made Potato Soup. It turned out a little thicker than I wanted it but I can fix that next time. :-D

Our Story
Yesterday was an overall great day! Today Adam is coming to eat lunch with me and we are going to Olive Garden ... YUMMMM! He doesn't really like Italian food but I LOVE it. So since I get to choose that's where we are going. Can't wait!
Tomorrow my brother-in-law's blues band is playing at a local cajun restaurant for Mardi Gras. I didn't realize it was already time for Mardi Gras! Anyways it's gonna be a blast! Adam is their sound guy and he loves being a part of the band!
A friend of ours had her baby yesterday ON MY BIRTHDAY! She's so adorable! I wish they didn't live all the way in Arkansas so I could go see them! Another friend of ours recently had her baby (another girl) at the end of January. We are supposed to go to see them tomorrow but I'm not sure if we will be able to. Hopefully we can during the day.

Happy Birthday To Me!
It's been a great day already and it's only 9:30!

Aren't they gorgeous? I'm assuming my sweet hubby had them in his truck all night and then put them here when he left for work. This is a wonderful thing to wake up to at 5am!

My boss had some balloons for me here at the office along with favorite cake EVER (Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting). She also brought my favorite thing ever for lunch... her Chicken & Dumplings. I feel totally spoiled today. I don't think it could get any better!
I woke up to this on my island:

Crazy Week
It's been a busy crazy week & weekend!
For Valentines Adam & I went to my cousin's wedding. I can't believe she's all grown up and married! Afterwards we went out to eat at Casa Ole. Yum! During our meal we talking about different things we've seen lately on Good Eats (LOVE THIS SHOW!) and I wanted to find some dutched process cocoa. So we went to a local Brookshire's in town that has so much stuff. They have a butcher, sea food area, a full bakery (even does wedding cakes), and an in house chef that you can watch cook. This place is awesome! Well they didn't have my cocoa but I got some great buy one get one free seasonings and some fresh fruit.
We tried another place that sells chocolate. Not sure what the name of this store is but they specialize in Godiva! (Double Yum!). They had my cocoa, BUT at $11 for a tiny box I passed. I will keep looking. After we left the "Godiva" store we decided to walk down to KE Cellars. Our town doesn't sell alcohol (except in restaurants) but we have this one place that has a winery just outside of town and they have this place here where you can go in and taste wine (at $1/oz) and purchase bottles. We have never had "real" wine. Our wine has consisted of beer store wine. Although good it is pretty "cheap". So we went in and tasted four or five different kinds. I picked one I liked and Adam got one he liked. I think we spent about $25 for both.
At home we decided to sit outside by our fire pit and drink our wine. Well it started raining so we opened up our huge umbrella that's on a stand. It's was very romantic by the fire and listening to the rain. Overall it was an awesome day & night!
Monday I was off work so I stayed home and did pretty much nothing. I did get some laundry done and a few minor things around the house but my main accomplishment was watching 4 episodes of Girls Next Door, Greys Anatomy & Private Practice from this week, and watching the movie Double Jeopardy.
Yesterday (Tuesday) I did not feel well at all. I felt dizzy and a little loopy like I had taken medicine and was having a reaction. I hadn't taken anything so I knew it wasn't that. After doing an insurance quote for a customer and typing things that didn't make sense to me I decided to go home! It was really weird. I went home about 2:30 and basically layed around until I finally went to bed about 8.
Today I'm back to normal which is great! I'm ALWAYS sick on my b-day (which is tomorrow Ya!). My boss and I have a training class at our district office today so we get to actually close the office from 10:30 to 1:30. Usually she goes and I stay or the other way around but rarely do we both go. Plus I get to go to the agents class! Woo Hoo!
I took some pictures this weekend that I'll try to post this afternoon or tomorrow :-D

Vulgar!
Yesterday got a lot better after getting home but I have something serious to talk about today.
Some creep/pervert/asshole called my office this morning and said some awful things. Like he had a "surprise" for me his "9 inches" and etc. etc. etc. It was REALLY bad. At first I thought it was my husband calling messing with me because he had just sent me a valentine text message and we were talking back and forth. Then I get this call and I'm thinking it's him. He is always calling my office and changing his voice up to throw me off and asking if he can insure his bicycle etc. So anyways this guy kept talking in this whisper and I'm still thinking it's probably my husband but I'm always skeptical because what if it's not? So I asked if he got my last text message and he said "yea" but I still was thinking it wasn't him. So anyways when he got to the point that he told me he was about to ... you get the point.... I hung up on him. I knew it wasn't my husband because he would never talk like that or be that vulgar.
I called my husband and he was in a meeting and as soon as he got out he called me. I asked if it was him and he said it wasn't and was pissed that somebody would call me and say those things.
My boss is on the phone with the phone company now to see if we can trace the call and I've left a message with a guy I know who's a police office to see what we can do. I don't play around with assholes like this. I'm not about to sit around and let some guy mess with me and get raped one day. I don't care if he was just messing around or not. You don't play around like that. I'm keeping all the doors to the office locked and keeping my knife my husband gave me in my pocket.
My boss seems to think it's some random jerk but this has really scared me. Any guy who walks in to my office could be this creep!

Awards
I received two awards this week from Tierra at Building An Empire For My Family. I'm so sorry that I didn't see them before now! I really needed a boost today so I'm glad I saw them today. Here they are:

This award states:
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Lovely Lemonade Award!
As always here are the rules:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show great attitude and/or gratitude.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received the award.

Great Weekend!
I wasn't able to post the end of last week because I was so busy at the office. I finally got the guts to have a talk with my boss on Thursday. Anyways I feel like a dork for not talking to her sooner. She was thrilled with all that I had come up with and ways to help us be more efficient. I made a list of everything that we I do in the office on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. I then highlighted all the things I was going to continue to do (which was 14 things) and left 11 things open for her to chose from. She took 4 of them and we are comprimising on the rest because I have more knowledge of them. She has agreed to be more active with answer phone calls and not giving me the little things to do. We have been working on getting our office organized so that we both know what's going on at all times. I'm very happy with the way things have turned out.
As to this weekend it was really a great one. Adam & I went out to eat Friday night at Posados and had some drinks.
He worked Saturday from 7am to 12pm so I went grocery shopping and then did a couple of things around the house (basics only: laundry, dishes, & dusting). I always feel so blah on Saturdays. We went in to town Saturday night so that I could get a wedding shower gift for my cousin. I also had a $20 rewards card to Trade Secret after racking up all my points!! I LOVE OPI fingernail polish! We got home and sat around a fire with his parents (They live on the same property as us). I love being outside at night around a fire and snuggling with my hunny.
Sunday we were pretty lazy in the AM. I didn't even think of getting out of bed until 10am which is about 3 hours past my normal weekend time! I finally got some energy around noon after having a late breakfast and drinking some caffine. I had made a list on Friday of about 20 things that wewanted NEEDED to accomplish around the house. I think we did about 18 of them so that was pretty awesome. I got a closet organized in our junk room which was AWESOME. I was able to get a lot of other things organized without getting overwhelmed. I focused more on putting items in the room they belonged rather than going through each thing and trashing what may or may not be used anymore.

Really Long Post
Today I'm not in a good mood. Everything is annoying me. From the static in my hair to my jeans being too tight this morning! I also had to go to the Dr. this morning and get my third (and final) Gardasil shot. Cancer runs in my family and I will do everything I can to prevent it!
At the Dr.'s office my blood pressure was up as usual. I have perfectly normal blood pressure except in the office. I don't know why. I have tracked it for him at home (well Wal-mart/Brookshires) and it has been normal. He says that is called White Coat Syndrome which I guess means that I fear the Dr.'s office or something. I don't though. That's what's so weird. Sure I don't like shots but I don't really get nervous before appointments. Anyways he has been suggesting that I go from the Birth Control Pill to Mirena which prevents you from getting pregnant for 3 to 5 years (or it can be removed sooner). I just don't know if that's what I want to do. I guess I like the pill because I feel in control of it. I take a pill each day and don't get pregnant. .... Simple. He's agreed to let me stay on the pill since I have provided him my at home blood pressure for now. Very frustrating to me.
I was able to watch the Biggest Loser last night. I can't believe that some of those at home contests only lost a few pounds in 30 days! I mean 12lbs is great but to only have lost 2lbs? I would be mortified! So I have decided to challenge myself to see how much weight I can lose in 30 days. Starting today Feb 4th and going to March 6th. I'm hoping that if I can lose significant weight before I go back to the Dr. for my yearly exam in August that my blood pressure will be better (even if it is only White Coat Syndrome).
I know this post is long enough BUT I keep getting tagged on facebook & myspace with the 25 Facts About You thing so here is mine. This took me all day yesterday!
~*~*~
If you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you OR I find you interesting OR I think you are groovy OR I thought you might get a kick out of this :)
1. I love the colors Pink, Black, & White (especially together)
2. It bothers me when things are not spelt correctly or punctuated correctly. That’s why almost everything I type I do it in Word so it automatically spell checks it for me. (In fact that’s how I typed this out).
3. I have three best friends: My husband, Emily (my Sis-in-Law), & my Mom.
4. I don’t have girlfriends that I hang out with. I don’t know why but I don’t. Maybe because I’m always so busy that I feel guilty not being able to go and do things with other people.
5. I love my job. I love the Insurance business and I love helping people feel secure and know what this crazy insurance stuff is all about. I know most of our 700 + customers names when they walk in our call our office without having to ask them.
6. I usually type a sentence, read it, and then adjust it. (Unless it’s something really random and long then I’ll read over it at the end). I can never say exactly what I want to say the first time.
7. Pirates of The Caribbean 3 is my favorite movie ever. I watch it pretty much any time I can. The other two are pretty great too. I also love pretty much any type of movie as long as it’s not incredibly stupid. I really love musicals.
8. Ketchup & Cheese are two of my favorite food items. I used to eat ketchup sandwiches when I was younger (still do actually).
9. Adam & I have been together for over 10 years. We talked on the phone for two months before we met face to face. We dated for three years before living together. We Lived together for another three years before getting engaged. Then married about a year and a half after getting engaged. March 10th of this year is our 3 year wedding anniversary.
10. My favorite store is Hobby Lobby. They have the coolest stuff!
11. I also love Office Supply stores! I have an obsession with pens. (Especially pink ones)
12. I’m a very messy but organized person. Everything must be in a certain place even though that place is usually not that neat. I know pretty much where everything is in my house & in my office.
13. I make my grocery list every Thursday night. I write out all the ingredients that I need for each recipe. Then I go back and group things together by how they are in the store and if I needed more than one of something. I always have to rewrite my list this way.
14. I also have a list of every thing I know how to cook for dinner. This way I’m not wondering what can I make for dinner because I just choose from the list. I also keep track of what I make each night on my calendar so that I know when we had what. Really helps to remember how old something is in the fridge.
15. I have only been cooking for a little over one year. I did cook simple things before that but never a complex dinner.
16. I own at least 20 purses or tote bags and none cost more than $30. I love bags! I would love to have a Dooney & Burke or a Coach purse but it seems like a waste of money too me. A new thing I have discovered is the Miche Bag. I REALLY want one of these for my birthday this month. You have the same inner purse but change out the shell to whatever style you want! AWESOME! www.michebag.com
17. I want children one day (at least 2 more years though). I don’t have their names picked out and probably won’t until the time comes. I do want my want my daughter’s middle name to be Ann though. It’s my Nana’s & mom’s middle names and I have always been a little upset that it wasn’t mine.
18. I get overwhelmed very easy. I am good at multi-tasking with about 2 things but any more than and I go in shut down mode. If I have a bunch of things I know I need to do then I usually don’t get anything done because the job seems so large to me and I freeze. I have learned to break things down and just do things for 15 minutes at a time. This has made my life so much easier.
19. Teeth & Eyeballs gross me out. I NEVER pulled any of my teeth as a child. My mom or my uncle had to do it for me. I also avoid going to the dentist because it really bothers me. I’ve always had a fear of having my eyeballs poked out. Weird I know.
20. I love to crochet & do counted cross stitch. Adam says they are my granny hobbies but that’s OK. I have a deep down desire to be artistic and this is the only way I have found that I can express that. I love to create things. I would love to do things like scrapbooking or other crafty things but I’m not good at them.
21. I love music. All types. I don’t usually remember things from last week but I can sometimes remember where I was and how I felt when I heard a particular song for the first time. I also can usually relate people in my life to a particular song that reminds me of them.
22. I love playing games. I love card games, board games, dominoes, drinking games, and any other type of game. My favorites are Gin, Bingo, Monopoly, Dominoes, Clue, Battleship, Phase 10, Uno, and many different versions of Solitaire.
23. I can be very competitive. I love to win (especially if I’m beating Adam or if I’m right & he’s wrong) but I’m a very gracious loser. (Well except if Adam’s right & I’m wrong in an argument – which rarely happens of course).
24. I am a really fast reader when I’m reading something that I really like. I’m usually always reading some type of romance novel. I own at least 500 books, possibly more.
25. It is hard for me to have a one sentence explanation of something. I can write a paragraph so easy but putting all that information into one descriptive sentence is difficult. (As you can tell by the length of these answers.)

Dogs can have allergies?
Pepper (our chocolate lab) has allergies! I thought that it was going to be something totally horrible and cost a bazillion dollars but she simply has allergies! Thank you God! The trip to the vet yesterday cost about $87 because they had to do blood work and give her a prescription. I'm praying that the meds work. If not then she will have to go back for an x-ray which is about $75 alone plus she will have to stay over night since we go to work so early. I hope it doesn't come to that though.
Last night Adam & I got into our usual argument about the DVR. I have several shows that I watch (The Bachelor, Biggest Loser, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, & Ghost Whisperer). That is basically one show per night except Thursdays when there is two shows. Our DVR is set to record on TV 1 & TV 2. So is it not logical that I should have the option to record one of those TVs without it being a bid deal? Wouldn't that give us EQUAL time to record our favorite shows? Well obviously not because for some reason our DVR kicks off my shows each night so I have to manually change it and he misses some of his Family Guy RERUNS, South Park RERUNS, Good Eats RERUNS, our Modern Marvels. Heaven forbid that he misses one these. I get so aggravated because he's already seen these shows at least 100 times each (well around that anyways). I haven't given in though because I feel it is my right to have half the control of the tv.
I can't imagine life with DVR! I would probably get alot more done! Well actually it is a lot faster watching your favorite shows and fastforwarding through the commercials.

The Concert Was Awesome
So Friday was really my first rock concert and let me say I'm a ROCK fan! It was so much fun. They had 3 bands playing that night instead of 2. The opening band was Faktion which is a band out of Dallas. They were really great! Then came Black Stone Cherry. I have heard maybe one of their songs on the radio before that. Then the main event was Hinder! FREAKIN AWESOMENESS. I was basically deaf afterwards but it was worth it.
Saturday though I felt like crap. I'm not sure if it was just the headache I had afterwards or what. I actually ended up not drinking so it wasn't a hangover. We did some running around town Sat night & ate at Cici's (which I LOVE).
Sunday was better. Adam and I went for a walk down our road which is a dead end road. The end is a huge pasture. We decided to hop the gate and go exploring. It was so beautiful. I wish I would have had my camera. It was just hill after hill as far as you could see. At the bottom of the first there was a big creek that was moving pretty fast. Our chocolate Lab decided to run down the hill and jump in not realizing that it was deep. It scared us because she hasn't been in that deep of water in many years. Obviously she remembered how to swim though but it scared her too! Getting back up those hills and walking all the way home really was a work out. My legs & abs hurt today!
We got back right at 5 so we were able to see the beginning of the Super Bowl. This was the first Super Bowl either of us have actually watched. (Well we watched the 1st half & the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter.) I feel blessed to have a husband who isn't in to sports. He likes sports and everything he's just not really in to watching them on TV. Growing up my ex-step-dad used to take over our only TV and watch football every time it was on. So I'm not too fond of the sport. I love going to games but watching them on TV is not high on my list. Anyways I'm deviating... We actually had fun watching the game and cheering them on. We didn't favor either team but he was rooting for the Cardinals just because they were the underdog and I was rooting for the Saints just because he wasn't. HAHA.
Today Adam is taking or Chocolate Lab that I mentioned earlier to the vet at 4:45 because she has been coughing really bad since Saturday morning. (I'm sure her dip in the creek didn't help Sunday). She has been wheezing and hacking for several months but the vet said that there wasn't anything we could do without surgery. She was tested for Heart Worms and that came back negative then. Now when she coughs it sounds like she has fluid in her lungs. I just pray that she's OK and that also our vet bill isn't outrageous. I would do anything to help her. I wish I could be there with her when he goes but I'm too far away and won't be home until 5:45. Keep her in your prayers please.
