Weekend Recap

This weeked was pretty awesome. It had some moments that I wouldn't mind if they were skipped but 99.9% of it was really great. We hung out with friends all weekend and even made some new ones! Yesterday was my favorite day :)

Adam and I slept until 11am since we didn't home until around 1am from Bowling. I made Biscuits & Gravy & bacon for breakfast. It was the best gravy I've EVER made! We layed around until about 1pm and then got ready and headed in to town. I had forgotten a couple of things at the grocery store so we had to run to brookshires. I thought we were going to the town closest to us (10 minutes away) but instead Adam headed to Tyler (like 25 minutes away). I was like OK maybe he just wants to spend more time in town rather than being at home. Well he took me to Andy's frozen custard! YUM YUM YUM! He remembered me saying earlier in the day that it sounded really good. I got a Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae thing and he got a Strawberry Shortcake Sundae with Bananas. SO AWESOME! Their shortcake is the best I've ever had!

The weather was beautiful so we sat outside eating our ice cream. I could have stayed there all day! Perfectly sunny with a perfect breeze! We finally got moving again after our sugar overload and headed to brookshires. I love this one particular store. It's really awesome! They have best butcher, bakery, produce, and just overall store!

Afterwards we drove the long way home looking at the historical part of town we've seen a billion times but never get tired of. It was just an overall easy great day. I fall in love with my husband even more on days like these!

Tonight I'm headed to a Mary Kay unit meeting. Hopefully I'm not going to be the only one there. I hate being the center of attention. Our full time person here at the office is working out great. Today is her third day! It's SO awesome to have someone else here all day!

Adam's Birthday Part 2

I took off work yesterday to surprise Adam. Remind me never to do this again! I'm so sore and worked my BUTT off yesterday (which would be great if I literally did).

Anyways yesterday was his birthday. I've been planning to take the day off and finish the guest bath that he had started to remodel forever ago. I had also planned to have the house cleaned, dinner ready, and a homemade (from the box) cake.

Well he informed me Tues night he wanted his dad to make him grilled wings for dinner. I thought well OK one less thing I have to do but I'll need to take time to go to the grocery store to buy the wings. Totally doable.

I got up at 3:45 in the morning to cook his breakfast (French Toast & Bacon - his fav). Of course he was thinking I was going to work so I sent him on his usual way at 4:30. I collapsed on the couch until 5:30 and tried to sleep some because I hadn't slept good the previous night. At 5:30 I decided to go ahead and have breakfast and get busy.

My major plan was to finish touching up the trim. There was a few places that had green paint on the white trim. Also behind the sink wasn't painted because Adam had planned on putting a chair rail there so I was gonna pull the sink out, since the plumbing wasn't hooked up, and paint that wall green. I got all the clutter out of the bathroom (tools, trash, etc) and then cracked open the paint can ..... GREEN SLUDGE. This was supposed to have been white paint and it looked like green water with brown flakes.... GROSSNESS. I was determined to be independent in this adventure and figure this out though. I thought well maybe it just needs to be stirred... Nope ... It needs a miracle (I was later informed it needed to be reshook by Lowe's). Ok so that was disappointing but I'm still OK. I moved on to the green wall I wanted to paint. I went to pull out the sink and realized that he had put silicone around the back so it wasn't moving. Great can't do that either. I was pretty discouraged that my plans were all messed up but refused to give up. I cleaned the shower/tub & toilet thoroughly. Put knobs on the sink cabinet doors, hung up the shower rod, and then the curtain. I didn't have any window covering so that is still open but oh well.

I moved on to the hall. There was a big box with a metal thing laying on top that had all his tools on it (turned out to be a street sign I didn't know we had from somewhere). Next to that were all the buckets from paint, primer, putty for the walls, left over hard wood floor stuff, etc, etc. I got ALLLL of this moved and organized into our storage room. Then I swept the floor from the bathroom to the end of the hall. It looked gorgeous! From the living room looking down the hall into the bathroom it looks completed because you can't see the blue painters tape around the top of the walls HAHA!

So after finishing all of that it was about 10:30am. I was exhausted and ready to call it a day. I had some food and started to tackle the rest of the house. It wasn't bad just needed dusting, vacuuming, blankets washed, laundry done, dishes put up, etc. It between doing that plus some other stuff I was doing (running virus scans on the laptop etc) I baked/frosted his cake.

About noon I ran to brookshires to get his chicken wings. About half way there I realized I hadn't had a shower yet, but did have some remnants of the previous days makeup, and my hair up in a fly away full pontytail. Not my best moment. I just knew I was gonna run into somebody that I knew from highschool or something. Thank you Lord that didn't happen!

Got back home and did more cleaning. I put up a Happy Birthday banner in the kitchen and put his cake on the island. About 2:30 I decided I needed a shower & makeup since Adam would be off in 30 minutes. I got done right at 3. When he got home I hid in the bedroom and had everything off like it normally would be. I hid my car at my sister-in-law's house so he wouldn't see it. Our inside dog normallly stays in a kennel during the day and I had her in the bedroom with me. I tied a note to her with yarn that said "Happy Birthday Daddy". As soon as he walked in I let her go. He picked her up loving on her then saw the note. He started to freak out a little thinking she had yarn tied around her neck all day... Does he think I'm idiot? (probably). Anyways he went on talking to her about her crazy mama and I was cracking up! Finally he heard me and saw me hiding on the other side of the bed.

He was so surprised! For a little bit I thought he would be mad about me taking off on his birthday and him having to work all day. I'm so thankful that he wasn't though. All in all it was a very productive great day but very hard! I think he had a really good birthday and it was so nice to have a few extra hours with him that I normally don't get since I'm not home usually until 6pm.

Well I'm so sorry this is so long! Thanks for reading all the way to here if you made it this far!

Adam's B-Day part 1

We had an AWESOME weekend. We didn't do anything Friday night because Adam had to work Saturday morning. I was so afraid he was going to get stuck at work all day and ruin my early birthday surprise for him but he was able to get off at 11am. He took a nap and then some of his friends came over for a while to shoot guns, blow stuff up, and do whatever it is guys do. (Crazy men).

I finally drug him away at 5:20 by telling him we had to leave in 10 minutes. He knew we were going somewhere but no the actual where. I'm pretty sure he knew we were eating out.

We went to a place called Shoguns. Not sure if this is a national chain or not. There is a huge square table with two grills. The chef comes out and cooks all the food right there. It was SOOO much fun! Our chef had a great personality and picked on everyone which made it so fun. Adam has been once and so have I (about 8yrs ago when someone else took me). It's VERY pricy for me but it was worth it for his birthday!

Afterwards we went bowling. Well Adam & his friend Robert bowled. I watched because I was SO stuffed! HAHA.

Here are a few pictures of our night:

1st attempt to take a picture of Adam's parents. My sister-in-law put her big head in the picture. (JUST KIDDING ... I LOVE YOU!)

Attempt #2

Emily (my sister-in-law/best friend) with her boyfriend Cam

Adam's friend Robert and of course us.

I love my hubby! He's so adorable!

True bowling form!

His actual birthday is Wednesday so check back on Thursday to hear about the rest of his surprise. Can't post about it now. I don't want to take the chance of him finding out!!!! (SO FREAKIN EXCITED)

HILARIOUS!

I saw this post over at Misadventures of a Newlywed and laughed so hard this morning. I HAD to share. I agree with every single one of them! (The Nintendo one is my favorite!)

Random thoughts from people 25-35 years old..

-I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

-More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tellmy own story that's not only better, but also more directly involvesme.

-Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when yourealize you're wrong.

-I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink tohave fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint andsticks when they've invented the lighter?

-Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you'regoing in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed tobe going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in thedirection from which you came, you have to first do something likecheck your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter toyourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you'recrazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

-That's enough, Nickelback.

-I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

-Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know"feature on Facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choosenot to be friends with?

-Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn'twork? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magicallyfix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we allknow how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boardsor FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

-There is a great need for sarcasm font.

-Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger andsuddenly realize I had no idea what the f was going on when I firstsaw it.

-I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actuallybecomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone'slaughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a littlebit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still theonly one who really, really gets it.-How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

-I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand thantake 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

- I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clearyour computer history if you die.-The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying tofinish a text.

- A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to thespread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it.

- LOL has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

- I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

- Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantrontest is absolutely petrifying.

- Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart",all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

- How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nodand smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

- I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams upto prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

- Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in'examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a completeidiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney andsaid "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

-What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

- While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road andinstinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

- MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure Iknow how to get out of my neighborhood.

- Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how theperson died.

- I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in theshower first and THEN turn on the water.

-Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

- I would like to officially coin the phrase 'catching the swine flu'to be used as a way to make fun of a friend for hooking up with anoverweight woman. Example: "Dave caught the swine flu last night."

-I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

- Bad decisions make good stories

-Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that theirprofile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just gotthe Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind ifI do!

- Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

-If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspringwould probably just be completely invisible.

-Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to goaround and say their name and where they are from, I get so incrediblynervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't bea problem....

-You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at workwhen you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anythingproductive for the rest of the day.

-Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don'twant to have to restart my collection.

-There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you aregoing to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

-I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks meif I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that Iswear I did not make any changes to.

- "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

-I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of peoplewatching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but willthey judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren'twatching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up andleave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

-I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?Dammit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times andgoes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phoneand run away?

- I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then notseeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

-When I meet a new girl, I'm terrified of mentioning something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking.

-I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

-Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

- As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

-Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

-It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

-I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not toanswer when they call.

-Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

-Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their carkeys in a pocket, hitting the G-spot, and Pinning the Tail on theDonkey - but I’d bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snoozebutton from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first timeevery time...

-My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what wouldhappen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

-It really pisses me off when I want to read a story on CNN.com and the link takes me to a video instead of text.

-I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone theydrive behind obeys the speed limit.

-I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

-I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday orSaturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

-The other night I ordered takeout, and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic silverware. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to thinkabout it, and then estimated that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There's nothing like being made to feel like a fat bastard before dinner.

Quicky

Yesterday morning's meeting went really well! It was the first time I was able to talk to our new hire. I really like her! Wanna know something AWESOME? We have the same birthday! How weird is that?! I'm not really nervous about her starting anymore. I'm more excited!

I've been so busy trying to get things ready for next week. I want to have things somewhat better organized so that as I'm training her to do things I do we can start out right. Like I do things my way right now but I know that I don't do them the BEST way. With two people we can do things properly. I know that probably doesn't make any sense but oh well :)

Adam just called a few minutes ago and I'm meeting hime for dinner tonight at IHOP. We love IHOP but I just wish we had a better one. Ours is SO old & small but the food is still delicious!

I'm sorry to all my bloggy friends that I haven't been commenting lately. I haven't even been able to read everyone's blogs lately because it's been so crazy. I hope to get caught up this weekend though!

Have a great evening!!

Weekend Recap

We had a really great weekend! It was mostly a lazy weekend because when we were at home we stayed on the couch watching tv mostly.

Saturday we met some friends for dinner and then decided to go see the new movie District 9. I had a bad feeling about this movie from the commercials. I'm not against alien movies because I like a good sci-fi movie BUT there was way to much blood, guts, and cruelty for me. I mean I was rooting for the aliens and hoped they start a war over the way they were being treated. Good concept movie wise but way to graphic for me. I spent the majority of the movie with my hands over my eyes which is not a good use of my $8.50! HAHA

Sunday I made French Toast for breakfast which is Adam's favorite and we layed around until at least noon and decided it was time to clean up and go in to town for groceries. We came home after spending way too much and I made dinner for the night as well as tonight (monday's) dinner. I have a Mary Kay meeting tonight so won't be home until bed time.

Tomorrow morning I have a District Meeting for work and the new person we hired as a full timer here at the office will be there. I'm really nervous for some reason. I will probably continue to be nervous and she is actually here and working for a while!

Some Friday Funnies

Happy Friday!!!

I'm SO happy that it is friday! No special reason other than I get to spend the weekend with my hunny. No special plans yet but this week has been great so the weekend can only get better right?

Well today I have noticed that I've aquired a collection of comic stips that Adam has cut out for me and I've hung on my cork board at the office. I've decided to share my favorite two. I couldn't find them on the internet so I took a pic with my phone (awesome clarity huh?)

Adam gave me this one for Valentines Day about 3 or 4 yrs ago. It's pretty crinkled because I've put it here there and everywhere. Now it's home is at my office and I've had to cover it in tape so that it doesn't rip any more than it already is. At first I asked him if he was trying to tell me something but he just thought it was cute ... lol. I LOVE it :)

He cut this one out for me about a year or so ago. I think this one is so hilarious!

Now for some funnies I've found on the internet!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend.

A Giveway

First and foremost ..... Kristen @ Ladybug Blessings is having a giveway! She is giving away a BEAUTIFUL ladybug necklace that I WANT so BAD... (Are you reading this Kristen) Pick me Pick me... JUST KIDDING. Anyways visit her blog for the giveway and also because it's just plain awesome anyways. :)

Yesterday I actually felt like I got a ton of stuff accomplished at the office! I had just put everything I had to do in one big pile on the center of my desk (was at least a ft tall) and it's now less than 1/2 ft tall so that's definately awesome. I'm trying to get things completely cleared so that once we have another full time person we can put systems in place that allows us to do things properly and not have things pile up. One person being responsible is overwhelming.

Today I have a lady coming in to talk about life insurance for her, her husband, and their baby. I pray that I (and my boss) will find the right words to convey the importance of life insurance for their young family. They've told us they want it and need and when been trying for months to get them into the office to go over this important policy.

I'm back with a confession!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've taken a little blog vacation this past week. It's been SO busy here at the office I haven't had time to write something up. Thank you Lord that my boss is back today! It's great to have someone else to answer questions and help people.

Our full time person will be starting Aug 26 ~ which happens to be my hubby's birthday! He'll be the big 25! This makes me so happy because our car insurance will drop like $30/month! Also I won't sound like such a cradle robber for at least the next 6mos until I turn 27... lol.

~*~

Ok so I have HUGE confession to make and I will ONLY be making it here. It does not go past this screen to Myspace, Facebook, or to my family. (We'll see how many family people actually read this little blog of mine).

I WANT ONE OF THESE:

(Isn't this most adorable picture EVER!)

Yes I have baby fever people. Please don't tell my mother. She'll have that big I told you so grin and will never let me live it down. You see Adam and I decided to wait at least 5yrs after we were married to even start talking about kids. He doesn't want them. He is not a kid person and has not seen himself as a father. Well I've never just thought I HAD to have kids to feel like my life was complete and so this has never been a big deal. In the past year or so he has said that he would actually like to have 1 child preferably a little girl. I thought that was awesome but still didn't get all excited about our future child. Now when he sees a pretty name he will text it to me as a suggestion for our future daughter but it's still not something we are actually planning.

I have had baby fever slightly once before when one of our friends had the first baby of all our married friends. Oh I wanted one SOOO bad I was in tears constantly. Well after he was born I held him and was like HECK NO! Too much responsibility! Now though it's totally different! I have this URGE to hold my child and be a mommy. Last night I had a dream that I was holding a baby around 6mos or so and he or she was wearing only a diaper. I was patting the baby on the back and he/she layed their head on my shoulder and just snuggled in to me. OH MY GOSH. I woke up this morning feeling that NEED so bad.

I've become hopeless and everything I see is baby related lately! I do know that I'm not pregnant and don't plan to be for another 2 yrs or so at least. Must be that biological clock ticking away. Honestly I'm terrified of having a child. Not the labor part but actually being a mommy and being totally responsible for another life. But the need is starting to out way my fears. I'm just praying that in a couple of years my hubs will have come around more and feel like it's something to consider.

So you are now all sworn to secrecy and cannot tell anyone about this! This is our little secret ok! :-D

Feeling Crafty

It's been a very crazy week. I cannot believe that's already Thursday!

The girl that I mentioned that was coming for an interview monday did come BUT she actually turned down the job because she needed more money. She needed X amount of dollars to pay for tuition but it's gonna be pretty hard to find a job with not that many hours that pays what she needs. I pray that she finds something that meets her needs though.

The full time person that we hired will be starting either the 24th or 31st. Hopefully she'll start sooner rather than later.

~*~

I found a new blog a couple of weeks ago called Nanny Goat. It's an AWESOME crafty blog that I'm in love with! There is a project on there called 30 Meals. Well I'm working on that for myself. Basically you get your top 30 meals that your family loves and put them on recipe cards. Each week you pull out 5-7 and put in a little box on the fridge and that's your meals for the week. (There's more to it but that's the very quick condensed version).

I'm still working on my top 30 but today I made my fridge box!

I've never "made" anything from cardboard and I've never covered anything with scrapbooking paper so it was definately a learning experience. (I seriously had to google how to cover an open top box). Sometimes my commen sense just flys right out of my head I swear.
I plan to make some bold black letters that say "What's For Dinner" or something to that effect. My kitchen is black, red, & white so this will look so pretty on the fridge.

~*~

I went to my Monday night Mary Kay meeting and I'm so excited that I did. It was just me and my director but it was great to get that one-on-one time with her. We have a lot of new stuff coming out for the holidays and I can't wait to show them off. I'm in serious need of customers so I'm making plans to get more. Not definate plans yet but I'll probably be using this more to help me keep track of what I'm doing and where I'm at in my goals!

Well that's all I have to ramble about for the moment. My boss is out of town so it's gonna be a busy couple of days. (Party at the office ... JUST KIDDING - maybe)... :0)

Weekend Recap & Some great stuff!

Good morning everyone!

This weekend was one that I definately don't want to put on repeat. I'm one of those people that bottle things up. Whenever I have my feelings hurt or get upset I just keep it all inside. Well eventually all that comes out in one big volcano rupture. Needless to say that happened on Saturday after a pretty rough day. I got a lot of things out that I needed to and feel a lot better BUT I really need to learn how to just say what I need to say at the time and not store it up. It hurts the person that it's directed toward even more.

Sunday we layed around the house ALL day and watched movies (Cars, The Incredibles, & Hitch). I got a ton of knitting done. Hopefully I'll be done with a bookmark that I'm working on soon and can post. My other project is top secret ... shhh :)

TODAY we have a girl coming in at 1:30 to interview for a job as a part time person. She's cancelled once so hopefully she'll show up today and be great. On Friday the person we were wanting to hire as a full time person has accepted. I'm SO excited and can't wait for her to start!
