Weekend Recap

This weekend was FANTABULOUS!!!!! Seriously!

Friday after work I hit Marshalls & Ross. Now I remember why I haven't been to these places in forever. I know this isn't true for all of these stores but these two in my area are so junky. There is no organization and things are just piled up! I waded through a pile of purses at Marshalls and didn't find one I really like so I went over to Ross. I actually found two that I like but then found "the one". It's made by "Nine West" and was originally $80. I paid $23! Woo Hoo. Here is a quick picture of it:

While I was purse shopping Adam picked up my new recliner then we met for dinner at Chili's (I'm so addicted to this place right now!).

Here's my new recliner at home! Not a great picture but oh well :)

Saturday morning we got up early and met my mom & step-dad for breakfast. It was really great to see them and laugh! It's been way too long since we've gotten together. After that we ran to Lowes and picked up a few things then went home. I spent all day cleaning the house and reorganizing 3 cabinets. I've been in this house (on our own) 2 years and I'm still moving things around!

Later in the evening we went to Em's and played Phase 10 until about midnight and had a blast!

Sunday we got up around 10:30 since we didn't actually get in bed until around 2am. We got ready and went to the fair. It was SOOO hot but there was a really strong wind so that really helped it not be unbearable. We didn't ride any rides but paid too much money to see a freak show thing that was really stupid. We watched our neice and nephew ride several rides and then we all walked around the exhibits. This is a picture of a sand sculpture. It wasn't completed yet but isn't it amazing?

After the fair we ran a few errands and picked up something for dinner to take home. We just had an overall fun and busy weekend. We laughed a lot and just enjoyed being us! To me that is the best weekend possible!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!!

TGIF!

I'm so excited for this weekend to get started!!
Tonight I'm hoping that we can pick up my recliner that we ordered last weekend. If not then it will be sometime tomorrow (CAN'T WAIT!!!).

After work today I do plan on heading to Marshalls and then Ross. I'm not sure if these are National Chains or not. They sell overstocked clothing, purses, and home stuff and a discounted price. I'm in search of a new purse! I found this purse at Sam Moon's website:

I really love it but I hate buying a purse that I can't see and feel first. My co-worker has one that is very similar and I love it but I'm still having issues with buying it online. So I'm headed to those two places today to see what I can find locally (Our nearest Sam Moon store is in Dallas which is about 150 miles or so).

Tomorrow I'm having breakfast with my mom & step-dad for my Mom's Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Then I have a few things to do around the house and fix my mother-in-law's computer. I believe Adam is doing some stuff with his brother-in-law's band but not sure if that's definate yet.

Sunday we are headed to the East Texas State Fair. This isn't the big one in Dallas but rather the local one we have each year at the end of September! I love going through the exhibits. The Master Gardner in Tyler is having a Secret Garden exhibit so Adam is really excited about that! I think we are going to the Rose Museum to see the Garden Idea Room so I'll try to sneak in my camera!

While at the fair I will be having one of these:

Adam will be having one of these:

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Fall Is In The Air

Happy First Full Day of Fall!

I'm so excited that Fall is finally here! I cannot wait for the trees to start turning shades of red, yellow, & gold. I cannot wait for the first crisp cold morning. I absolutely cannot wait for the first bonfire of the year!

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. It's just so nostalgic and romantic to me :)

Here are a few pics that I found via google:

Aren't these home's beautiful (somewhere in TX)

Hill Country

These next two are East Texas (where I live). We have several places just like this around my house.

The lakes are gorgeous in the fall!

I'm so ready!!!
We watched the House season premier last night and the new season looks like it's going to be it's usualy greatness! This morning I watched the Biggest Loser while getting ready and cried part of my makeup off when they were making their phone calls home! I can't believe they pulled off the 155 lbs of weight loss in WEEK 2! Tonight is SYTYCD! I'm getting into way too many shows this Fall!

Weekend Redecorating

We had a very productive and excellent weekend!

Friday we went out to eat with Adam's parents and our nephew for his 13th B-Day. I can't believe he's a teenage! When Adam & I first started dating his nephew was 2! Oh my gosh I'm old! We went to Wing Stop. I've never been there and can honestly say I don't care if we go back. It wasn't bad or anything but I just get plain 'ol boneless chicken which turns out to be overpriced chicken stips.

Saturday we got up pretty early. We moved all of our furniture in the living room & dining room to one side and Adam steam cleaned most of the carpets (except where the furniture was of course). Then he installed my new kitchen faucet. I think I totally forgot to tell ya'll about this! Last Wednesday Adam was at Lowe's and found a clearenced faucet for $50. He called and asked me to look it up online to see the original price. The original price from Delta was $408!!!! The Lowe's price was $313!!! Can we say EXCELLENT DEAL!!! So I now have a beautiful faucet that was cheaper than a POS. The box had not been opened so we aren't sure why it was in the clearance section but we did find that the rubber insert in the soap dispenser was kinked so I need to contact Delta to get a new one. Other than that it's absolutely perfect!

Here is the new faucet installed! We are going to switch the on/off thing with the soap dispenser though. I wanted the on/off on the left but Adam insisted it should be on the right. Now he has decided that it would be more functional on the left. Hmmm I think so too :)

Sunday we went in to town to go look at the furniture I mentioned in a previous post. I DID get my red Recliner and it was $100 off! It has to be shipped from San Antonio so we won't be able to pick it up until Saturday... I really wanted it that day but oh well. (We'll be picking it up to save the $50 delivery fee!). I didn't get the dining room set because I've decided I would rather have one that has a leaf that pops out. That way if our family grows one day or we have friends over for dinner we will have more room and won't have to buy something else again later. I did find the one I want but I'm going to wait until I pay off the recliner before I get it.

When we got home from town Adam finished the other side of the carpets and I finished cleaning up the kitchen and dining room. I found some new Canisters at Target. I've been looking for glass canisters forever. The ones that I had were black, round, and had the snap down metal things that kept the lids closed (You know the very common ones). Anyways the black showed every bit of dust, sugar, flour, etc so I've been wanting glass ones. My ideal set would have red lids (since my kitchen is black & red decor) but these stainless steel ones are great for now. (I paid like $7 for the set).

In my dining room I we have just a small table and chairs from wal-mart for now until we get our new set (one day). It's not a bad set but very small! Also I finally got my window hung up. Not sure if I've talked about this before but my Sister-In-Law gave this to me. She found it in the trash actually but cleaned it up. It still needs a pane of glass in the top left but I think we have some glass around somewhere.
Isn't it beautiful!?

This is my whole dining room... Very small but it's coming along! Sorry about the piece of wood. That's actually what the bird cage sits on and I forgot to move it after cleaning it.

So now you have seen a tiny bit of where I live! When we get our chair in this weekend I'll take pics of the living room :) I really would love to concentrate on one room each weekend! Next needs to be my bedroom and closet. Although the closet may need a whole weekend itsself!

After posting pictures last week to my facebook of me as a kid that was sent to me by my dad my mom scanned in some pictures of here own. This is my absolute favorite picture in the world! That's me and my mommy the day I was born! Isn't my mom beautiful!

Memories!

Yesterday I got a flyer from the furniture store that I found the recliner & dining room set at and guess what!! The dining room set is marked down Sunday only from $399 to $299.... We're gonna go look at it Sunday! I'm super excited!

I found out this week that someone at Adam's work has a confirmed case of H1N1 so we have been very diligent about washing hands and keeping things disenfected. I'm really glad he wears a uniform so I don't have to wash his clothes with ours (They have a uniform service that does it). Also I'm so thankful he is a clean freak (I mean that lovingly). He is very particular about washing his hands, keeping his work areas clean, and keeping our house picked up and clean (well mostly on that last one).

Two of my cousins have been confirmed with the H1N1 virus so please keep them in your prayers as they are small children. Hopefully their other two siblings or parents will not get it.

My dad sent me a CD this week with some pictures that he scanned of me as a little person. These are a few of my favs. Wasn't I adorable!? Not sure what happend :)

Material Girl Day

I'm in a wanting mood today. I think I've pretty much decided to keep my car. I'm not sure if I had mentioned that I was car shopping but I think I'm just going to stick with the one I have. I only have 3 yrs of payments left and haven't had one problem with it even though I'm about to hit 60K miles.

Anyways back to what I DO want.

I'm in L~O~V~E with this chair! The only problem being that I'm pretty sure it's microfiber and I'm not a fan. BUT I think it can be special ordered in other fabrics. I really would love to have a red recliner. My kitchen is black & red, we have red pillows on my dark brown leather couch, and I have a few red things hanging up to tie it all in. This would be like the cherry on top!

In the process of looking up that recliner online I came across this dining room set. We have an ITTY BITTY dining room and I've been wanting something tall but small so that gives that room a little something. Not sure if this will happen but I really love this set.

Lastly (and totally doable) is this beautiful Hot Chocolate Set. This is the Star Consultant prize I'm going after this quarter in Mary Kay. Isn't it gorgeous?!? And it will go beautifully with my red & black kitchen and red recliner!

So that's about as far as these first two wants will go but a girl can dream right? :-D

Loving the BL Season

The Biggest Loser lastnight was so great. I think it's going to be a great season!

I'm rooting for the green team as of now! The girl in this team, Abby, is my favorite (so far). This may change but I really admire her. She lost her husband, 5yr old daughter, & 2week old baby in a car accident. I cannot EVEN BEGIN to imagine the pain she has gone through! I like her so much because she has this smile that says "I AM STRONG" and she is so confindent! Before the show started she was on my rooting list because she is from Mabank TX which is only an hour or so from where I live. So of course I have to root for my fellow East Texan!

Today I'm getting my hair cut at 1. Nothing drastic just getting it cut like I used to have it... Just right at my shoulders.

I think all this rain we have had has stirred up something (probably mold) and I've had a BAD headache now for days. So if this seems a little random it's because I probably won't be going back and proofing... Just submitting :) I also keep losing my train of thought because I was going somewhere with this but my mind is now completely blank.

Well hope everyone has a great Wednesday! (SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE TONIGHT!!)

Looking at the Positives

Because today has pretty much gone horribly wrong for me (not to mention I'm stilled bummed about this purse party cancellation) I'm trying very hard to look on the positive and bright side of things. I was inspired by my favorite morning show on Sirius Hits 1 - The Morning Mash Up (Love these guys!) - to think of something good. They have a segment they do every once in a while called "Tell Me Something Good" so that's what I've decided to do. Hopefully everyone else can participate!

Something good for me:
  • Tomorrow I'm getting my hair cut and I'm REALLY REALLY looking forward to that!
  • Tomorrow is the first day of the next Mary Kay quarter! Star Consultant here I come!
  • Saturday I'm going out and booking Mary Kay appointments!
  • There is a possibility we may go to a wine festival this weekend if Adam's not working!
Tell me something good going on in your life this week!

Weekend Recap

I really do love Mondays. I'm not sure why but I love the whole starting over fresh week idea I suppose. :)

We had a pretty good weekend. Adam had to work 12hrs Friday and then work 5am to 11am Saturday. I got a little bit of housework done while he was working but not much because I had a pretty bad migraine. Saturday evening we went to my sister-in-law's to play Phase 10. I LOVE this game but Adam wins everytime we play (well except that night he didn't). I always lose horribly but still love to play it!

Sunday I still wasn't feeling all that well but got up and got dressed and we headed in to town to run some errands. We got home pretty early and a friend came to pick up a fish tank we gave him. I'm SOOO happy to have it out of the house. It was this huge 55gallon tank that has been sitting in my itty bitty dining room collection junk in it and I finally decided to do something about getting it out! Now I can't wait to get my dining room back in order and actually be able to sit at my table (I'm not kidding when I say it's itty bitty!)

Last night (and all day yesterday) it has rained SO much! I thought I would need a boat to get to my car this morning! We had several lightning strikes around 12 that shook our house and scared the crap out of the animals. Lexi was shaking so bad and panting I thought she was gonna pass out. Finally she got under the bed with the cat and stayed there until we got up this morning. I felt so bad for her! I'm loving the rain though. I feel like it's washing away all this heat and Fall will be here SO soon! I can't wait!!!!

My purse party for the 19th has been cancelled! I found out that all the purses this guy had are $75 to $95 and they are knockoffs. First off nobody can afford that right now and second who wants to pay that much for a fake? Not me. So I'm pretty upset about it because I've done so much planning but Oh Well. I'm sure something better will come out of it.

Well off to work! Have an AWESOME monday!

I'm Back (again)

Hello blog world! It's been a while!

The past week (or couple of weeks) has been very crazy. I've been so busy at the office training that I haven't had time to blog even something short. We have a new full time person as well as a part time high school person that comes in twice a week to file. Things are finally coming into place though and I feel like I can breathe better. I can't even explain how awesome it is to have someone else here ALL DAY. I don't mean this negatively towards my boss because when she wasn't here she was still working but her job is more about going out and meeting people and not so much the service work. So all is great around here!

The weekends have been pretty busy as well. We've been hanging out with friends, bowling, and sometimes just being lazy. Right now I have some exciting things coming up!

On the 19th I'm having a purse party at my house! This will be my first thing that I'm hosting in my house. I did have my SIL's bachelorette party at my house but it was like right after we moved in and nothing was how I wanted it as far as how my house looked. So I've been cleaning, organizing, and menu planning for the past week. I can't wait for it to be the 19th!

The new Mary Kay quarter starts on the 16th and I'm planning to be a start consultant by Dec 15th! In order to do this I have to have $3,600 in sales! Pretty scary considering I don't think I've had that much in orders in the past 2yrs (maybe even since I've begun). There is a prize for this level that I NEED. I don't just want it but I NEEEEEEDDDDD it. I should have a picture of it in a couple of days and I'll share it! Not only am I doing this for the fabulous prize but also the extra money! I mean couldn't we all use an exra $1,800? (That's my part of the sales) How awesome is that?

On the 19th at my purse party I'm going to start booking holiday previews and skin care classes! I have SO much to do to prepare for that as well.

Sorry that I haven't commented on anyone elses blog. I have been reading though! Have a great day!
