Friday

It has started to finally slow down at the office.  Well it's still busy work wise, catching up, but the incoming claims have started to slow down.  We are up to 82 as of now.  We filed most ourselves with maybe 5 being filed directly by the customer.  That's one thing that I love about my job and who I work with.  We have EXCELLENT customer service and don't just throw people to the 800#. We retain more customers and have more referrels based on that alone.

Today is going to be a weird day schedule wise.  Adam is coming to eat lunch with me around 11:30 then we are going to pick up some hard wood flooring a friend is givings, and then going to vote.  My boss is leaving around 2 to go out of town and I'm trying to find somebody to work this afternoon to help answer phones.  Waiting on a call back from my sister-in-law right now for that position :).  Then after work I have my last day of workout for this week.  I'm not looking forward to LEGS.

I skipped yesterday's workout because my arms were still hurting so bad.  They are still pretty sore today but getting better.

This is the first year that we do not have any plans for Halloween.  Adam is pretty bummed about it.  Everyong had other plans so we couldn't have a party.  We have been invited to a party but as it is now I'm  not sure if it's still on or not.  Hopefully it will turn into a good weekend whatever we do :).

Workout

If you follow me on Twitter you know that I have recently joined a gym and started working out.  I just started my full workouts Monday and this has been our schedule so far:

Monday - Chest & Triceps
Tuesday - Cardio
Wednesday - Biceps & Back
Thursday (today) - Cardio
Friday (tomorrow) - Legs

For this first week I have a trainer to instruct me and help me learn each routine.  We work on machines, steps, with weights, etc.  I was pretty intimidated by my trainer at first.  He is the owner of the gym and is this very serious dude.  Yesterday he joked around a bit and I'm a little more comfortable .. he still scares me a bit thought. LOL.

Monday's workout went good.  It was hard and I was sore the next day but felt good.  Cardio was really hard but again I still felt good afterwards.  Yesterday on the other hand.....  I cried.  My biceps are my weekest muscle.  I couldn't finish the whole routine because my arms just wouldn't lift any more.  I got home and could barely cut up potatos for dinner and couldn't even lift my drink, I had to use a straw.  Then my nose started itching it and I couldn't scratch it.  I literally could not life my arm up that far!  I started crying because it hurt so bad and I felt so weak.  Adam rubbed my arms, gave me some ibuprofen, and then I took a hot bath for like an hour.  I feel better today but my arms still feel a little heavy and sore.

Today is a cardio day which doesn't require a ton of arm movement so I should be ok but wishing I could just go home after work and crash!  At least Adam is off work tomorrow so I don't have to worry about dinner or getting things done by a certain time this evening.

Stormy Weekend

The past couple of days have been some of the busiest that I have ever had while working here.  To back up and explain let me start with our weekend.

Saturday we went to a festival that the band was playing at.  About half way through their set it started to lightning and they quickly finished their song and started taking things down.  We were all running around grabbing equipment, cabes, instruments, etc and just putting them in cars.  We finally got it all packed up and were getting some food before we went home and I told Adam I really wanted to head home because we were each driving and I wanted to get home before it started raining hard.  We were about 2 minutes from the house when my sister-in-law called to tell me there was a tornado warning and it was about to hit where we just left and our house.  I told her to call her sister because they were still at the festival getting their food.  We got home, grabbed our dog, and ran over to Adam's parents and got in their tub with a mattress over us (they weren't home).  It started hailing so loud for about 3 minutes and I really thought some windows were getting shattered.  Very scary!

We stayed there until my sister-in-law called back with the all clear.  My other sister-in-law who was still at the festival with her family said that they all had to get in the coolers of the gas station and they thought the tornado was going to get them but thankfully it never actually touched down.

Sunday evening we went through pretty much the same ordeal and spent about an hour at Adam's parents until the storms were over.  We didn't get much that night but south of where we live had baseball size hail.

No as far as why I have been so busy ... I work for an insurance company.  Monday we got to the office at 8:15 and turned in claims continuously until 5:00.  Yesterday was the same.  As of today we have 68 individual claims that have been turned in through our office.  Multiply that by the hunders of agents in this area and you can understand the scope of this damage.

Today I have finally been able to do actual WORK but a few claims are still coming in here and there.

I'm hoping that things will settle down back to normal in the next few days so I can get caught up!

Shortcake ... YUM

I forgot on my last post to share a picture of this incredibly YUMMY White Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake that I made on Sunday.

This isn't the best of pictures but I had to snap it in a hurry with my phone because I was also in the middle of making dinner.  About 2 slices are the only thing left!  Adam LOVED it and my boss may want me to make it for a Bridal Shower next year.  Adam suggested making a strawberry glaze to go under the whipped cream.  YUM.

I have a bunch going on in my life right now that I'm not ready to really share or talk about yet.  Nothing major (and no I'm not pregnant) but I feel like things are clicking into place in my life and I don't want to get ahead of myself.  Life is just great at the moment :)

GREAT Weekend!

We had a really fun weekend!

Friday when I got home Adam surprised me by taking me to the High School Football game where we met 12 years ago.  Our nephew was marching in the band so we finally got to see him march for the first time.  It was a great night and felt really cool to be back after so long!

Saturday we didn't get much accomplished during the day but that night we met up with some friends and went to a cornfield maze.  It was so awesome and we got lost several times.  We rode the hay ride, had hot dogs, and just had a great time!

Sunday we got up early and had breakfast at Egg & I (yummy waffles!).  We had planned on seeing a movie (RED) but had a while to spare so we did some browsing at Academy where I found some new shoes to wear to work.  We still had some extra time so we went to Khols where I found a BEAUTIFUL coat and a light jacket to wear at work.  It's SOO hard for me to find a nice coat that fits me.  I have little shoulders and arms but bigger hips.  Jackets that fit me nicely up top are are too small at the bottom.  If I get jackets to fit my hips then my shoulder area is really baggy.  But now I finally have great coat to wear during the winter.

12 Years!

It seems like I haven't had time to do much extra lately expect work, eat, and sleep.  Adam's been working long shifts, my work has been NUTS, and I haven't been getting home until late.

I do have a bit of a new hobby that has taken up a little of my time too.  On Oprah (last week I think) Martha Stewart was on the show and she was talking about these punches that you use to make designs on paper.  I went to her website and found some great ideas and I'm going to attemp to make my own Christmas cards this year.  I'm going to start on it early!  Well my first card that I have made is a card for Adam for our 12 year anniversary.  It's not done yet but this is what I have so far.

Tomorrow, the 16th, will be the 12 year anniversary of the first day that we met face to face at a Homecoming game.  We had been introduced by a mutual friend over the phone and had been talking to each other for about 2 months.  I knew that I really liked him before I met him but when I saw him walking up the bleachers (I had seen his picture) I knew it was a forever kind of love.  We didn't talk to each other much during the game because we were so shy even though we had spent HOURS talking on the phone.  The next day he called and asked me to go skating with him (we were like 15).  The next day, the 18th, at the skating rink he asked me to be his girlfriend.  I can't believe that is been 12 years!  It seems like so long ago but yet it feels like we've always just been "us".

Slow Weekend

Well I didn't end up winning the spa package like I wanted but I did win a gorgeous welcome mat (which I still need to get out of my trunk).  Adam won a camo t-shirt and my boss won a red and black umbrella.  We didn't win top prizes but had a ton of fun and ate some yummy free food.

We didn't really accomplish much over the weekend.  Adam had a re-certification class for his fork truck license Saturday morning and then we visited with his sister while she was in the area for a little bit.  We went to town Saturday night and finally got an external hard drive that we've been needing to store our 8,000 songs that are on the laptop and a new hand held vacuum because mine only stays charged for about 2 minutes.

Sunday we were pretty lazy and didn't get as much accomplished as I wanted to.  I had planned on making a roasted chicken for dinner but when I pulled it out of the fridge the smell was awful!  So gross!  Apparently I didn't look at the date and it had expired 2 days after I purchased it which was last Sunday.  I should have put it in the freezer or paid attention to the date when I purchased it.  Luckily since I've planned my meals ahead I just moved around meals and went on.  So much less hassle than before when I was unprepared!

No Proper Title Here

Ok so my title really sucks but oh well.  Nothing occurred to me that would fit and I hate just leaving it blank. :)

Yesterday morning I finished "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest" which is the last of the trilogy. These books really surprised me.  I'm not normally into the crime drama or murder mystery type but these books really had me from beginning to end.  There were a couple of scenes that were a little to "graphic" for me but I just skipped over them and continued on.  The amount of research the author must have done for all the facts in these books just astounds me.  I'm not sure if the statistics and particulars about Sweden are true because.. well I don't live in Sweden.  Even if they aren't true though everything in these books are so well thought out and planned.  I wished I could just ask him where he got the ideas and if any of it's true (as far as the story line).

Tonight my co-worker, boss, and I are going to a local car dealership for their annual Insurance Agents appreciation dinner.  Adam doesn't have to go in early and is actually getting to come this year! Woo Hoo!  It's been 3 years I think since he has been able to.  They have a meal catered that is usually completely yummy.  This year we got to pick steak or chicken.  At the end of the dinner they give away a TON of door prizes.  One year every single person left with something.  I'm hoping to win the $200 spa package this year.  That's what I've always wanted to win each year and never have.  Sounds like HEAVEN!

Cold Temps, Fair, and Cheap Chicken!

I'm so happy that Fall is offically here!  Our morning temps have been in the 40s and evenings in the 70s! Life is perfect!  The fair is in town and all the festivals are starting up.

Saturday Adam & I took my sister to the fair.  We watched pig races, a sea lion preformance, ate some corn dogs (a co-worker of Adam's hooked us up with free corn dogs & drinks from his booth!), and walked around the vendors.  We were meeting my sister's boyfriend so they could ride the rides together.  He was running a little late but they had a blast riding all the rides!

This picture is from a ride called the Freak Out.  My sister is somewhere in one of those seats but who knows which one!  It was a pendulum type thing that swung back and forth (parellel with the ground) and the bottom part spun!  I took this picture standing under it.  Crazy!

We got home sometime around midnight ... completely exhausted! Adam & I only rode one ride and both of us were like dang we are getting old! LOL!

Sunday I made out my two week shopping list again and then went to the grocery store while Adam was doing some dirt work.  I didn't go to my normal wal-mart and they were out of several things so I have to go back probably tomorrow morning :(.  I did score an AWESOME sale on chicken breast.  Normally a big pack (about 9 pieces) is $15 for Pilgrim's Pride.  I buy the wal-mart package for the same amount for $1.78/lb or about $9 per package.  Yesterday I got two packages for .97 cents/lb! I paid $4.70 for one and $5.10 for the other!  Even though I had just bought two packages last week for my normal price I couldn't pass it up!  No more chicken buying for at least 6 weeks!

After my grocery shopping and cleaning up the kitchen we had some great snuggle time on the couch catching up on DVR stuff from the week.  An all around great weekend!
