What a busy week it has been! I do mean the past 7 or so days … Not just past 2 days. I am SO glad though that it is a short week and even though today feels like Monday it’s really Tuesday!!
The last time I posted I was worried about Hurricane Isaac. We ended up getting only about an inch or two of rain in town and not a drop at our house. Boo!! We got to hear a lot of thunder but that is pretty much it.
This past weekend we were pretty low key. We ran errands Saturday and then went bowling. I’m so happy that we may get back in to the habit of regular bowling. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until we went back. Normally when it’s just me and Adam we only play one or two games because we get tired but this weekend we played FIVE games in a row! I was so sore Sunday but we had so much fun. I even won a game!! Too bad it’s so expensive now. They either charge by the hour or you have to choose how many games you want to play but there is a minimum number you have to play for. It works out better just to pay for the hour. We may have to choose between bowling or movies rather than doing both in one weekend.
We did go see Lawless on Sunday. It was very good but very gruesome. I’m ok with fake gore but this movie was real gore. Other than a few moments where I had to turn my head it was a very good movie. I love Shia Labeouf and Tom Hardy’s character was my favorite. There was a lot of funny parts in a non-comedy movie sort of way. Just the personality of Tom Hardy’s character cracked us up. I would actually buy this movie to watch again.
We tried a couple of new restaurants in town this weekend. We have been trying to be more adventurous because we have so many places to eat but end up at the same ones all the time. We tried Fish City Grill and was not impressed at all. I think this may be a national chain? Then we tried a local place called The Diner. I really liked it but Adam said it was generic cafeteria food. OK so their mashed potatoes were instant but their chicken fried chicken and fried mac & cheese was pretty awesome. He’s so picky!
We didn’t do anything special for Labor Day. We had lunch at his parents and then I helped my sister-in-law make a diaper cake for her friend’s baby shower in a couple of weeks. We spent our evening at home watching Bar Rescue. This is seriously our new favorite show! I love John Taffer. I go in to a restaurant now and I’m wondering what their ticket times are haha!
Work has been very busy. Our new lady is working out great and we are trucking along. The last and first weeks of the month seem to be our busiest and last week we were slammed. Of course we were off yesterday but today hasn’t been TOO bad. I’ve been able to get a few Thirty-One things done and actually get this post typed out in timely fashion.
Speaking of Thirty-One … I’m starting something new over on my Facebook group. Please go here and join my group so that you can stay in the know! Every year I’m sad that I can’t afford to help out the Salvation Army Angel Tree and help get Christmas presents for children in need. This year I have decided to use my Thirty-One business to help raise money! I’m featuring a product every week and any 10% of the sales of that product will go toward sponsoring a child for the Angel Tree. I’m so excited to do this and could really use a lot of help in spreading the word! I would love to be able to sponsor MORE than one if I can! So please share my link!
