What Are The Odds?

The other day I talked about Adam’s injury.  Well guess what! I have the same injury! What are the odds of that?! I’m thinking that last Wednesday when he was unable to move much I injured myself.  I knew Thursday morning that I was sore down in my lower back but it really wasn’t anything abnormal after straining it.  Well then I sat on the concrete floor for 7 hours playing cards and I’m sure that really aggravated it.  Each day it kept getting worse until Monday when it became unbearable to sit in my chair at work.

So I headed to the Chiropractor with Adam.  Sure enough, I twisted a vertebrate down low almost to my tail bone.  I’ve been having intense pain in my left hip.  Tuesday I woke up to muscle spasms and could barely walk.  It took me about 5 minutes to get from my bed to the bathroom.  Let’s not even discuss peeing.  The act of sitting was excruciating! I went back to the Dr and he said that I was healing but that it would just take some time.

Last night after taking some vicodin I was able to get in the tub for a hot bath … best decision I’ve ever made … ever.  For a blissful hour there was no pain.  I guess it really helped loosen things up because this morning the spasms were gone.  The CRAZY pain is still there but it’s manageable.  Hopefully each day will get better and better.

I go back to the Dr in the morning.  Not looking forward to him having to adjust it again. Ouch!

Speaking of odds … did anyone else play the Mega Millions lotto last night?  We did … As you can tell by my lack on confetti and celebrating … we did not win.  There is always Friday though! :)

Question …. If you won BIG money would you tell anyone?  We decided we would claim our winnings anonymously.  Of course our close family and friends would know because we would share some of it but that’s it.  We already have our millions planned out… :)  What would you do with that much money?

Crazy Week!

I’m really hoping that this week will be a calm and restful week.  Boy do I need it!  Was last week the full moon? People were just crazy last week.  Every single day we had at least one crazy customer.  One day I think we had three or four that were just down right nasty!

On top of all the crazy at work Adam got hurt at work last week.  Well actually it all started Friday before last.  He moved wrong and popped something in his back.  Well after being in intense pain until Saturday it started to get a little better and by Monday it was almost gone.  He went to his chiropractor and was told he had popped a rib head out of place.  Well everything was fine up until Wednesday.  He’s not sure if he moved wrong or what started it but he started having spasms in his back.  They kept getting worse so he told his boss he needed to leave.  They must have been BAD because he has NEVER left work before.  He’s a suffer through it kind of guy.

Anyways, I get a phone call from him telling me that he’s at home, laying on the floor, and can’t move.  I got a hold of his dad next door who ran over to help him.  I left work shortly after and headed home because it wasn’t getting any better and he really needed to see a Dr.  Well when I got home he had just got out of the shower, trying to ease the spasms.  It took me an hour to get clothes on him and then get him in to the car.  I have NEVER EVER seen him in pain like that.  I finally got him to the Dr and after x-rays they figured out he had rotated one of the vertebrates in his spine.  That caused the muscles to spasm trying to guard the injury.  After some adjustments and therapy I took him home.

He ended up being off work for the rest of the week and couldn’t really move freely until Friday.  Finally over the weekend he can move almost 100% and just has a little bit of pain in his upper left side.  I’m so glad he’s feeling better! Hopefully this week will go smoothly for him with no re-injury!

In some happy news from the week … Thursday night I did end up going to the Midnight Premier of Hunger Games! Adam was set for the night and told me to keep my plans so I did.  We had a TON of fun and the movie was AMAZING!! Adam and I went back and saw it together Sunday and I loved it even more the second time around!

Have you seen it yet?  What did you think??

Show Us Your Find

I’m a day late with my great find but I have a good excuse.  I won’t go in to that today though … another post.  But let’s get on with my great find this last week!!

Show Us Your Find

Last Friday while surfing around on Pinterest I found a video about how to style your hair a certain way.  I watched and then ended up following the link back to the blog.  NEW FAVORITE!

Small Things Blog

Check out The Small Things Blog and then go to Hairstyle Tutorials.  I love all of these videos and have tried out a few of the styles on my hair with great success!!  She is so easy to follow and I’m the type of person that has to see something before I understand it.  I do have the desire to cut my hair off now but I know it will not look anything like hers HAHA!

In one video she shows how to use Aquage Uplifting Foam and I’ve been pretty excited to try it out because I have very fine, flat hair.  Well Friday I went to the Aquage website and looked for a salon near me that was selling their products.  Well of the 4 listed in my area, 3 no longer carry Aquage and 1 was closed.  Things got busy and I didn’t get back to looking until Tuesday when I started just randomly calling salons … I was on a mission!  I finally found a salon down the road that could get me the Uplifting Foam and have it for me the next day! Score!  So I emailed Aquage and told them of my troubles and let them know that their info was incorrect.  Well … because I HAPPENED to mention my flat fine hair in my email and how excited I was to try the Uplifting Foam, they are sending me some free products!! Cool right?!!

Go check these places out as well as Janette and see what else was featured on yesterday’s post!! :)

New Shop!

My husband is a man’s man.  He likes to work on things and for the past 7 years, since we moved to the property we are on, he has wanted a shop to do his working in.  He has things that he has been wanting to make and build but hasn’t had the place to do it.  Well guess what!!! Operation shop construction is under way!!!

I’m so EXCITED for him and I can’t wait until it’s done!  The shop that him and his dad share now is small and really old (it was already on the property).  It will be torn down soon and all their stuff moved to the new HUGE building.

Check it out!

They got started EARLY Tuesday morning

Framing started Thursday!

They weren’t scheduled to start construction until later next week or even the last week in March but they were able to get started early. (No complaints here).

Today we are hoping they will be done with the framing and then completed by Monday or Tuesday.  Adam and his dad will then get started on electrical and plumbing.

I’m so happy that something he has wanted so bad and for so long is finally happening!!

Blog Changes & Anniversary Weekend

Do you notice any changes!? First off I’m sure you noticed the name change!! What do you think? I’m in love with it! Big THANK YOU to my friend Janette for helping me come up with it.  I went through a billion different options and as soon as I heard this one it felt right.

The design changes aren’t as drastic as I had originally planned but I designed this 100% myself.  Everything I have ever used before was premade templates and the one I had I never could get it to work just the way I wanted it.  So I took some elements from the previous template (like the background) and customized it myself! *patting myself on the back here*

There is still a lot of pink going on but I think it’s a little classier and it functions the way I have always wanted it to.  I finally have my tabs back!

So other than new blog stuff let me tell you about our Anniversary weekend!

We did end up going to Joe’s Crab Shack in Shreveport on Saturday.  My new picture above is courtesy of our Joe’s experience! The rain held off until we were on our way home.  I was thankful we were able to walk around the boardwalk for a few hours but the drive home was pretty bad. But we survived. :)

If you live near Shreveport and haven’t been to the Chocolate Crocodile you must go! Their white chocolate covered Twinkies are amazing! (Yes I’m still trying to lose weight but seriously, it’s a once a year treat!).

Sunday we got up early because we didn’t want to feel cheated by the time change. After getting ready to head in to town for our Sunday errands we decided to walk around the property checking out our new rivers!

Normally this side of our driveway is a very small creek that is about 2 ft deep! This was about 6ft!

This was the other side of the driveway!

At the back of our property I found this really pretty waterfall! I could have sat out here and just listened to it all day!

Overall we had a great anniversary weekend and had a lot of fun just hanging out together. :)

6 Years

Tomorrow is our 6 year wedding anniversary!! It seems like we have been married FOREVER but it also seems like just yesterday we were cruising around in a white hummer and shopping at wall-mart in our wedding finery. :)

We don’t really have big plans.  We are hopefully going to the Boardwalk in Shreveport to eat Joe’s Crab Shack and do some shopping. I say hopefully because we are supposed to be getting 8inches of rain over this weekend.  I’m not sure what we will do if we decide not to go.

Today I’ve been thinking back to how different things were 6 years ago.  I didn’t know how to cook very much.  We were living with the in-laws. We just THOUGHT we knew about being broke. I was terrified of managing a whole household worth of bills, laundry, and chores. We have survived so far through the not enough money days, bad dinner experiments, no clean socks, and disagreements on how things are done.

The one thing that has not changed is that this man completes my world.
Adam at Joe's Crab

He is my rock that keeps me stable and his arms are my comfort when things go wrong.  He makes me laugh when I don’t feel like laughing and brings a smile to my face with his mustache smiley :{.  He’s my best friend and my partner in this life until the end of our days!

Things That Are Cute!

This past weekend Adam & I went and saw the movie The Lorax.  It is SOOO cute!  A church youth group was there with kids of all ages and this little girl sat behind us with her parents.  She was maybe 4 or 5 years old.  After a part where the bad guy was singing his part she said “That was SCARY!”.  So dang adorable!!

I wish I could explain my favorite part but I just can’t without facial expressions or hand motions but lets just say I love the chubby bear!!

Speaking of things that are so cute check this out:
Mini Mouse Cupcakes by Zoey Cakes
(Source Cake Wrecks & Zoey Cakes)

I’m not a big fan of things Mickey or Minnie but I think these are about the most adorable cupcakes every for a little girls birthday party if you are in to the Minnie Mouse theme.  Also I could totally make these!! According to the Cake Wrecks site they believe the ears are made from Thin Mints.  I need somebody to make these for! :)

Weight Loss Update

I would love to post that I’ve lost a ton of weight since my last update about dieting.  But that’s not true right now.  I’m still sticking with weight watchers and I have lost a few more pounds (except this week where I gained .8 from birthday celebrations).

Of course I love watching the Biggest Loser as I do every season. This season the theme is No Excuses.  Well my biggest excuse for pretty much anything is “I don’t have time”.  I really feel like it’s true because I feel like I just don’t have any time to do anything other than my normal schedule.

I’m coming to realize though that I really do have time I just don’t want to use my time to do things that are hard or require me to rearrange my schedule.  I need to learn how to better utilize the time that I have. Well this week I’m going to try to start changing this.

My goals:

  • Make a cleaning schedule for my house.  This way I’m not trying to do a bunch of things at one time.  I will have small things to do throughout the week and can better utilize free time on the weekends.
  • Use my crock pot once every week so that this will be at least one night I can do a long workout.  The only thing I know how to make in my crock pot right now is roast.  Any recipe ideas??
  • I’m going to find a quick workout that I can break up and do throughout the day at work. (Squats, lunges, etc).

My other big excuse is not tracking my food because … I don’t have time (see a pattern here?).  So I’m making it a requirement to track BEFORE I eat.  No track = no eat! I have a BIG goal for next week:

I’m going to lose 5lbs!! Yep! Gonna do it!! :)
I Can
